Autumn at Villa Asti & Golden Colours ..and Mornings Above the Clouds
Autumn has arrived at Villa Asti. Here in Mombaldone, Piedmont, the landscape is slowly changing colour. Shades of green are giving way to yellow, orange and gold, and the view from the house seems a little different each day.
Some mornings, the clouds settle in the valley below us, with hilltops rising above them. From our position high on the hillside, we can look down over the clouds. It is the kind of view that makes you linger a little longer over your morning coffee.
Preparing the Garden and Pool for Winter
The pool temperature has dropped below 20°C again. Soon, we will close the pool and cover it for winter, ready for the next season.
There is work to do in the garden, too. Recent rainfall has shifted some of the stones in the garden steps, so we will be resetting them. Life on a hillside in Piedmont brings beautiful views and a few practical jobs when the weather makes itself felt.
We are also working on projects for the coming season’s guests. We look forward to sharing more as they take shape.

Although the pool will soon be taking its winter break, Villa Asti is available to rent throughout the year.
Autumn and winter bring their own atmosphere. Changing colours, low clouds and crisp mornings reveal a different side of the landscape, while there is still plenty to enjoy across Piedmont. Autumn brings truffles and markets, offering a lovely reason to explore the region’s flavours and small towns.
A stay here can be about more than summer days by the pool. It can also mean unhurried outings, shopping for local ingredients and spending time together at the house.
